Hey Pops,

Things are interesting. We’re taking mortar fire on our base. Our convoy made it alright getting up here. We had no enemy contact, but we are right outside Fallujah. Taking mortar fire or having a couple Syrians jump the walls into our base isn’t uncommon!

It’s definitely exciting, but I’m liking it. Stepping outside my comfort zone and experiencing something new always makes me happy, so keep that in mind.

My walk with God is going better. I’ve been working on it for quite some time now and am pleased, but it can always be better.

I got to run, but know that I love you and miss you—and hey, we’re making history. Fallujah is compared to Escape from New York, if you ever saw that movie. Even Saddam wouldn’t come here because of how bad it is, not to worry you, though.

Oh, can you try to find my baseball mitt and send that to me? That would be awesome! I love you so much.

Semper fi,

Seth
